The Sochi Jazz Festival will be held from 1-4 August 2019 in the winter theatre Festival hall. This is the 10th jazz festival. The organizer of the event, Igor Butman said: "the Program for the anniversary festival is still being prepared, we want it to be a really bright event, we want to surpass ourselves. While we are negotiating with a large number of great musicians, we really want to see our friends with whom we have already worked at the festival in Sochi and those for whom this festival will be the first acquaintance with this beautiful city. We are preparing a big program, we hope that everything will turn out, the main thing is that the traditional jazz parade around the city will definitely take place."
From the very beginning, the Sochi Jazz Festival was a spectacular and bright event. It is expected that the 10th festival will become even more large-scale. The anniversary date has already prompted the organizers to put all their efforts to prepare for the event. Unlike a similar Newport festival, Sochi does not take place in the open air. Igor Butman explains why:
"When we conceived the jazz festival in Sochi, we planned to make it such a summer event, by analogy with the Newport jazz festival, which is held every summer in the United States under the open sky, near the sea, yachts, romance. Sochi also has all the attributes of such a beautiful life. But one day we played in the sun, and realized that it is very cruel to the musicians, and then decided to hold the main concerts in the Winter theater and concert hall "Festival", and not in the open air."
